Vice-Senior General Soe Win meets officers, other ranks, families from local military units of Bahtoo Station

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win this noon and afternoon met officers, other ranks and families of local military units after touring Bahtoo Station, Nawngwoe Village-tract and Intaw Town.

Also present at the meetings were wife Daw Than Than Nwe, senior military offi cers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of Eastern Command and senior military officers, officers, other ranks and families of the local military units.

At the meetings, the Vice-Senior General said he arrived there to know how to take security measures in respective military units and build military units and to fulfill the requirements. He then instructed officials to take care of their military areas because some ethnic armed organizations who have signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement-NCA are weak in abiding by points of the NCA as they enter and exit beyond their areas and urge them not to do so through organizing the local people, to carry out the unity of military units in a compact manner, carry out practically and non-practically organizational tasks outside the military units, follow the Rules of Engagement and Geneva Convention affairs, take care of themselves to organize servicemen and families not to be involved in illegal timber smuggling and narcotic drug cases, and give a helping hand to local administrative organs in security measures.

The Vice-Senior General cordially asked about welfare tasks of offi cers, other ranks and families, other requirements of the units and individual difficulties of servicemen and families and attended to the needs.

After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General presented foodstuffs for officers, other ranks and families, and Daw Than Than Nwe and the wife of Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo, cash awards for feeding pre-primary children from the station for ensuring the health and fitness and intellectual sharpening through officials.

Lt-Gen Than Tun Oo and Lt-Gen Aung Kyaw Zaw also gave books on various subjects, foodstuffs and sports gear to officials. The Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted officers, other ranks and families of the respective local military units.

Later, the Vice-Senior General and party inspected progress in carrying out livestock breeding tasks in respective military stations.
