Tatmadaw delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing leaves for Japan on a goodwill visit

Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Yangon International Airport by air at 9.50 am yesterday for a friendly working visit to Japan at the invitation of Chairman of Nippon Foundation Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA.

The Senior General and goodwill delegation were seen off at the airport by Commander-in-Chief(Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San,Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army), Commander of Yangon Command Brig-Gen Thet Pon, senior military officers, Ambassador of Japan to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Tateshi Higuchi, Military Attache’ Col. Kei TAJIKA and officials.

Together with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the Senior General's wife, and Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Lt-Gen Hsan Oo and Lt-Gen Nyo Saw of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army) and senior military officers left the airport on the same flight as members of the delegation.During the goodwill visit, the delegation will meet with the Japanese Government, the Chief of Joint Staff of Japan Self-Defence Forces-JSDF and Chiefs of the Maritime Staff, the Ground Staff and the Air Staff of Japan Self-Defence Forces and discuss matters relating to friendship and cooperation between the two armed forces. The delegation will also visit cultural and industrial industries in Japan. Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited Japan on a goodwill tour at the invitation of Chief of Joint Staff of JSDF General Shigeru IWASAKI in 2014. It is the Senior General's second visit to the country.
