Narcotic drugs and related materials worth over Ks-9,960 million in Kutkai Township

Acting on the tip-off about the production of narcotic drugs near Lwalkhan Village in Kutkai Township in the northern Shan State, Tatmadaw military columns and departmental officials from Kutkai Township have been carrying out clearance operations since February 15.

From February 15 and 17, the joint team could seize 34 makeshift buildings used for the production of narcotic drugs, 12 generators, 22 freezers, 210 acid barrels, 165 diesel barrels, 60 gas-o-line barrels, 32 boilers, 200 acid bottles, 600 acid cans (two liters), 750 bags of caustic soda, 150 baskets of hydrogen peroxide, 487,100 stimulant tablets, 13 kg of stimulant powder, 43 kg of brown opium, 10,030 kg of caffeine, 1,375 kg of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine, 259 kg of ICE, 120 kg of opium and 23 kinds of related materials worth over Ks-9,960 million, in four places about 2,000 meters, north-east of Lwalkhan Village.

The news on the seizures of narcotic drugs was appeared in the Myawady Daily. The joint team comprising the Tatmadaw military columns and departmental officials from Kutkai Township seized 25,530 grams of opium and 40,950 stimulant tablets worth about Ks- 521.8 million from Daw Yin Yin, daughter of U Aik Lin in a house in Lwalkhan

Village on the afternoon of July 5, 2017; 162 plastic barrels loaded with hydrochloric acid (50-gallon) on three 12-wheeled vehicles heading from Muse to Lashio and 200 packets of hydrochloric acid worth Ks-129.2 million, near Nampaw Village at around 8 pm on January 4,2018; 1,750 kg of ICE, 39.6 kg of opium, 1,360 opium blocks weighting 462.4 kg, 200 kg of caffeine and 300 stimulant tablets worth over Ks- 72,000 million in an abandoned house in Lwalkhan Village on the afternoon of January 17 and 700 hydrochloric acid packets worth Ks-84 million on a 12-wheeled vehicle near Manlwal Village in Kutkai Township on Muse-Lashio Union Road at 9.15 am on January 25. Based on the investigations into related culprits, the joint team could seize opium production sites near Lwalkhan Village in Kutkai Township.

The joint team continues carrying out clearance operation nearby areas and will handover narcotic drugs and related materials to the anti-narcotic police in Kutkai Township systematically.
