Senior General Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with Chief of Joint Staff of Japan Self-Defence Forces Admiral Katsutoshi KAWANO

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who is on a goodwill visit in Japan held talks with Chief of Joint Staff of Japan Self-Defence Forces Admiral Katsutoshi KAWANO at the parlour of the Japanese Defence Ministry at 1.50 pm local standard time yesterday.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Lt-Gen Hsan Oo and Lt-Gen Nyo Saw of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Myanmar Ambassador to Japan U Thurein Thant Zin,Myanmar Military Attaché (Army,Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Saw Min and senior military officers. Admiral Katsutoshi KAWANO was accompanied by senior military officers and Chairman of Nippon Foundation Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA.

At the meeting, views were cordially exchanged on the exchange of rank-wise goodwill visits to promote friendship between the Tatmadaw and the Japan Self-Defence Forces,the cooperation in rescue operation in connection with weather and natural disaster and the sending of scholars of the Myanmar Tatmadaw to Japan.

After the call, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Admiral Katsutoshi KAWANO exchanged souvenirs and posed for documentary photo.
