Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a working goodwill visit to Japan, accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commanderin-Chief (Army), senior military officers, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan U Thurein Thant Zin, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Saw Min, Chairman of Nippon Foundation Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA and officials, left Tokyo by Shinkansen bullet train at 8.30 am local standard time today and arrived in Shin-Osaka at 11am local standard time.
Afterwards, the Senior General and party were welcomed at Senri Hankyu Hotel by Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Friendship Association Mr. Hideo WATANABE, Chairman of Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd Mr. Masanori MITSUI and officials. At the hall, the Chairman of Daihatsu Motor Company explained the facts about vehicle production to the Myanmar delegation with Power Point. Then, the Chief Executive Officer of the company extended an opening address. A luncheon was hosted to the Senior General and party.
In the afternoon, the Senior General and party arrived at Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd. At the head office, the chairman and officials of the company explained motorcars manufactured by the company and the three-wheeled motorcycle and vehicles manufactured in establishment of the company. The Senior General raised questions he wanted to know.
On arrival at the automobile factory, the Senior General and party viewed production processes of automobiles with the use of modern machinery. The chairman and officials of the company conducted them round the workplace. Afterwards, the Senior General and party posed for documentary photo together with officials of the company. Next, the Senior General and the chairman of Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd exchanged commemorative gifts and the Senior General spoke words of thanks.
Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd established in 1907 started manufacturing of Daihatsu Compahno motorcars in 1963 and introduced Daihatsu Dalta Truck as the first generation vehicle to the customers in 1971. The company has been manufacturing strong and cheap motorcars with less fuel consumption rate and distributed the products to the European market from 2011 to 2013. At present, the company opens factories and branches in China, Malaysia and Indonesia in assembling automo biles and manufacturing and selling them.
Afterwards, the Senior General and party left Shin-Osaka by car and arrived at the State Guest House in Kyoto where they were welcomed by officials.
