Third ordination ceremony held at Moscow Buddha Vihara Monastery in Moscow in the Russian Federation

The third ordination ceremony of scholarship officers of Myanmar Tatmadaw and Buddhists from Russia took place at Moscow Buddha Vihara Monastery in Moscow in the Russian Federation at 9.45 am local standard time yesterday, attended by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Also present at the ceremony were members of the Sangha led by Abbot of the monastery Dr Ashin Acchariya, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), families of the Myanmar Embassy and the Military Attaché Officeto the Russian Federation, officials of Russian-Myanmar Friendship Association, scholarship officers from Myanmar Tatmadaw in Russia,and Buddhists in Moscow.

First, the Senior General and party offered donations to members of the Sangha who descended from the ordination hall. They viewed the place where Sitagu Shwezigon Replica Pagoda will be built in the precinct of the monastery and visited the monastery.

Then, the Senior General asked the abbot of the monastery about situations for extended construction of the monastery. Afterwards,the Senior General supplicated that he would donate necessities in extended construction of the monastery.Then, the Senior General and party offered day meals to members of the Sangha. Next,they took the Five Precepts from the abbot of the monastery and donated alms to members of the Sangha. Afterwards, they took a sermon delivered by Sayadaw Dr Ashin Acchariya and shared merits gained for meritoriousdeeds. Then, the Senior General signed the visitors’ book of the monastery.

At the third ordination ceremony, six officers from the Tatmadaw who are learning further studies in Russia, two Russians and two Cambodians were ordained with removing hair, seeking robes and taking three kinds of Sarana Gamana and 10 kinds of Sabbath at Buddha Vihara Monastery in Moscow this morning in line with the Samanera Pabbajja and Upasampada auspiciousness. Reportedly,80 more scholarship officers will receive ordination this summer holidays.
