Nay Pyi Taw March 24
Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by the commander of Yangon Command and officials, inspected Myanma Tharkaung war veterans’ village in Yangon Station at 10.30 am yesterday.
At the briefing hall, the commander of Yangon Command reported on construction of the war veterans’ village and a plan for construction of No 1 War Veterans’ Housing (Laydauntkan).
After hearing the reports, the Senior General stressed the need to carry out construction of the war veterans’ housings similar to that of agriculture and livestock breeding farms, small-scale industries and garment factory. As such, it will contribute towards job opportunities for war veterans and families who will live at the war veterans’ housings as well as development of the region.
The Senior General said that it needs to fulfill the requirements of water and power supply for the resident war veterans while growing shade trees and windbreaks around the housing and along both sides of the road.
Next, the Senior General and party cordially greeted the war veterans and viewed round the war veterans’ village.
