Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Ambassador of the Republic of India to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Gautam Mukhopadhaya who had completed his tour of duty in the country at Bayintnaung Parlour here at 9 am today.
At the meeting cordial talks were centred on promotion of bilateral relations in all possible areas of cooperation between Myanmar and India which are important neighbours sharing a common land and marine border, economic cooperation including industries and personal goods and foodstuff enterprises, continuous cooperation in all potential areas for firmer military cooperation,
rankwise meetings between the basic levels, mid levels and leader levels and exchange of goodwill visits, ensuring a model border management based on mutual amity and trust as there are native peoples living on both sides of the border and cooperation in three areas – administration, security and defence – of the border.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Deputy Commander- in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in- Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The Indian ambassador was accompanied by Military Attaché Colonel Gaurav Sharma. After the call, gifts were presented and a documentary photo was taken.
