Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets families of Myanmar embassy and military attaché’s office in Japan


Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla meet families of Myanmar embassy and military attaché’s office and scholarship students.

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a working goodwill visit to Japan, met with families of Myanmar embassy and military attaché’s office in Japan yesterday evening.

First, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), senior military officers, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan U Thurein Thant Zin and Myanmar Military attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Saw Min, went to the military attaché’s office (Army, Navy and Air). They were welcomed by the families of the Myanmar military attaché’s office.

Afterwards, the Senior General looked around the Myanmar military attaché’s office and left necessary instructions after hearing the report presented by the military attaché.The Senior General and party then proceeded to Myanmar embassy to Japan where they were welcomed by Daw Khin Nilar Soe, deputy head of the embassy and embassy families.

At the meeting hall of the embassy,the Myanmar ambassador reported to the Senior General on diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Japan, providing assistance to Myanmar citizens in Japan, further strengthening amity between the two countries and cultural exchange.After hearing the report, the Senior General left necessary instructions and fulfilled the requirements.

After that, the Senior General met with the families of Myanmar embassy and Myanmar military attaché’s office and Myanmar students. In his speech, the Senior General said his goodwill visit to Japan aimed to promote the relations between the two countries through amity between the armed forces of both countries. His talks during the tour with Japanese leaders would produce many fruitful results. Such visits were aimed at explaining the Tatmadaw’s stance and mutual cooperation between the government and the Tatmadaw to international governments and armies. He called on staff of the embassy and the military attaché’s office to place more emphasis on diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Senior General stressed the need for promoting relations among diplomats with a wide range of scope for serving the State interest. It needs to culture spirits of cooperation and unity among embassy staff. The Senior General urged them to seek assistance for the nation through friendly relations with other diplomats in their cooperation arenas. As such, Myanmar-Japan economic investment will improve and then it will contribute to development of the nation. Myanmar needs to have capacity to produce and sell a large volume of export goods. In this regard,Myanmar must have investment and technology from Japan so as to manufacture the products with acceptable quality for Japan.Consequently, Myanmar will have market, job opportunities and income. The Tatmadaw cooperates with the government on the way to multi-party democratization process.

Then, the Senior General gave instructions to trainees, saying that as the trainees invest money, time and labour for learning in Japan,they need to pursue relevant subjects for benefiting themselves and the State. After learning, they must effectively apply their experience and knowledge they learned for development of the State.

Later, the Senior General presented foodstuffs, gifts and goods, clothes manufactured by Tatmadaw garment factories and cash assistance to families of the embassy and military attaché’s office and scholarship trainees through the ambassador,the military attaché and families of the embassy and military attaché’s office.
