Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation visits Hang Zhong, Xian in Shan Xi Province of China

The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commanderin- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who was on the visit in Kunming of the People’s Republic of China, left Chang Shui International Airport of Kunming at 9 am local standard time today by special aircraft of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. They were seen off at the airport by Deputy Commander of Yunnan Province Military Region Major General Qu Xin Yong, senior military officers, Consul General of Kunming U Soe Paing and officials.

Then, the Myanmar delegation arrived at Chenggu Airport in Hang Zhong of Shan Xi Province at 10.40 am local standard time. They were welcomed by Chairman of CATIC Company Mr. Yang Ying and officials. The Senior General and party viewed Y-9E transport plane manufactured by CATIC Company and posed for documentary photo. Next, the chairman and officials of CATIC Company explained functions of the company and manufacturing of airplanes to the Senior General and party at the briefing hall of the company. The Senior General and party asked what they wanted to know. Afterwards, the Senior General and the chairman and the vice chairman of the company exchanged gifts.

In the afternoon, the Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation arrived at Lintong Airport in Xian where they were welcomed by Deputy Commander of Shan Xi Province Military Region Major General Li Shengli and officials.

Next, the Senior General and party studied the Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang in Xian and they were conducted round by officials. Those terracotta sculptures depicting the armies were made by Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China more than 2,000 years ago in 246 BC. It took about 11 years to curve those sculptures. The Terracotta Army was discovered by local farmers in Xian in 1974. The government built the soldierand- horse funerary statues museum in 1975 and opened it in 1979. The museum has an area of 16,300 square metres and systematically keeps over 8,000 soldier statues, chariots and horses including the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in three large pits. It was recognized by UNESCO as world heritage site in 1987. That museum is a site depicting the cultural standards of ancient Chinese people attracting 30,000 visitors a day. On significant days, the museum is visited by more than 100,000 people.

The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation looked round in the museum and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing signed the visitors’ book of the museum.
