Vice-Senior General Soe Win attends closing ceremony of International Army Game-2018 in Russia

A Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the closing ceremony of International Army Game-2018 held at Alabino military training ground in Moscow of the Russian Federation in the afternoon (local standard time) on August 11.

Vice-Senior General Soe Win and senior military officers from other countries formally welcomed Russian Federation Defence Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu and party there. They visited House of Friendship booths. The Vice-Senior General explained the facts about Myanmar’s booth to the Russian Federation Defence Minister. After that, those present enjoyed final round of Tank Biathlon by the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Belarus and China. Then, the Vice-Senior General and party visited the exhibition about Kalashnikov at Patriot Park in Moscow.

Afterwards, the Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the closing ceremony to honour participants and a dinner hosted by the Russian Federation Defence Minister.

First, Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Army General Sergei Shoigu thanked the contending countries for taking part in the games. He said he will invite them to compete in the games in coming years.

In his speech, the Vice-Senior General prayed for all to enjoy mental and physical wellbeing. He took pride of troops from Russia in setting new records in the games with victories. He expressed thanks for warmly welcome. He said the big games will help armed forces from various countries at the games enjoy warmly friendly relations. Myanmar will continue participating in the games in coming years.

Next, the Vice-Senior General together with senior military officers from various countries had a dinner in their honour.
A total of 33 countries took part in the games in which Myanmar Tatmadaw participated for the first time. Tank troop of Myanmar stood in the 16th position among contending teams of 22 countries. The medical troop from Myanmar secured the sixth position among 10 teams from nine countries. The sniper shooting team of Myanmar won the 11th position among contending teams of 18 countries.

Moreover, the Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by the Vice-Senior General visited Bunker 42 in resilience of nuclear bomb, located in 65 metres deep underground in Moscow on the evening of 10 August local standard time.
