Security forces on duty of local security measures, acting on tip-off,seized narcotic drugs worth more than Ks-4,000 million in Mabein and Moemeik townships of Shan State (North).
In the events, security forces,discharging security duty in Mabein Township, acting on tip-off, arrested U Swam Thar, son of U Chuam Thar from Upper Padaung Village of Namhsam Township, together with 3,460 grams of heroin, 574,000 WY brand stimulant tablets and 6,000 88/1 brand stimulant tablets worth more than Ks-1,600 million at an old hut, about seven miles north of Moelo Village in Moemeik Township, at about 2 pm on 14 August. According to the chains of information, a total of 100 grams of heroin and 4,540 88/1 brand stimulant tablets worth more than Ks-17 million were seized from two huts, about 1.5 miles southeast of Mabein on 15 August. At about 4.30 pm the same day, about three grams of heroin and 434 88/1 brand stimulant tablets worth over Ks-1.1 million were also seized from two huts, about eight miles southeast of Sipein Village in Mabein Township.
At about 11.30 am on 17 August,a total of 321 WY brand stimulant tablets worth more than Ks-640,000 were seized from the house of U Aik Tun, son of U San Oo in Moelo Village of Moemeik Township while he was under investigation due to information.
According to further information,as security forces continued more searching, they seized 2,200 grams of heroin, 800,000 WY brand stimulant tablets and 24,000 88/1 stimulant tablets worth more than Ks-1,820 million from the polyethylene bag hidden in the bush, about nine miles southeast of Sipein Village in Mabein Township at about 3.30 am on 18 August, and 1,210 grams of heroin, 305,000 WY brand stimulant tablets and 20,000 88/1 brand stimulant tablets worth more than Ks-740 million from the place, about three miles east of Sipein Village at about 7 am and 2 pm on 18 August and arrested Shwe Htoo, son of U San Lin from Ward 8 of Namtu, along with 88 WY brand stimulant tablets worth more than Ks-170,000 at a hut, about two miles southeast of Sipein Village at about 4.30 pm on 18 August.
The arrestees and 6,973 grams of heroin, 1,679,409 WY brand stimulant tablets and 54,974 88/1 brand stimulant tablets worth more than Ks-4,000 million were systematically handed over to police stations in Mabein and Moemeik townships in order to take action against them under the law.
