Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, General Fang Fenghui inspect training of Special Operation Task Force

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and member of the Central Military Commission and Chief of the Joint Staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army-PLA General Fang Fenghui visited the Special Operation Task Force(SOTF) training ground of the Advanced Military Training Depot in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning. They were accompanied by Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Vice Chief of Staff (Army), the Vice Chief of Staff (Navy), senior military officers from PLA and officials.

First, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and General Fang Fenghui took their positions at the dais and took the salute of the trainees of SOTF.

Next, the commandant gave an account of SOTF with a power point presentation. The Chinese General signed the visitors’ book.

They then viewed the trainings of the SOTF trainees such as martial arts, overcoming barriers in a confident manner, parachute jump simulation, hostage saving and psychological training.The Senior General, the Chinese General and party also went round the training ground in buggies viewing training skills. Later,they posed for documentary photo together with SOTF members in front of the three-storey command building.

Then, the Chinese General praised members of Special Operation Task Force for their excellent performance. He said that the exercises of the SOTF meet the international standard. He praised those members for their efforts in training to skillfully overcome difficulties and barriers in a short time. He expressed his belief that the SOTF of Myanmar Tatmadaw will be really reliable for the country.The exercises will contribute much towards mental and physical training as well as discharging their duties in addition to mental strengthening.

Afterwards, the Chinese General presented the commemorative gift to the commandant of the Tatmadaw Advanced Training Depot.

The training ground of the SOTF was opened on 8 April 2016. The training ground includes six grounds for giving training to members of SOTF for having individual small arm shooting practice, individual techniques,confidence in their duty, mental strengthening, parachute jump simulation training and urban antiterrorism training. Skillful Special Operation Task Force members Tatmadawmen and Myanmar Police Force are under training and have been turned out to prevent terrorist attacks and successfully overcome the terrorist attacks if the country faces.

Next, the Chinese General and party arrived at the National Defence College where the commandant of the NDC extended greetings and explained salient points of the college with video clips. Afterwards, the Chinese General extended greetings to the trainees and signed the visitors’ book.

Then, the Chinese General and party visited the college.
