Senior General Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with Mr.Thomas J. Vallely.

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation from Harvard Kennedy School, Ash Center, led by Mr. Thomas J. Vallely and a delegation from Proximity Designs based in Myanmar at the parlour of Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw at 3.30 pm yesterday.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and Lt-Gen Soe Htut from the Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Army). Mr. Thomas J. Vallely was accompanied by officials from Harvard Kennedy School, Ash Center, and Proximity Designs.
During the meeting, the Senior General said it is essential for Myanmar to remain stable on the political path it has been pursuing and to totally end armed conflicts. Despite government change, the Tatmadaw will not change its stance and missions. The Tatmadaw is cooperating with the government in line with the law in the effort for peace, stability and development of the country, said the Senior General.
Mr. Thomas J. Vallely discussed views on Myanmar’s peace process, holding of an OIC meeting in Indonesia, discussions made by the Myanmar delegation led by the Union Information Minister in Indonesia and views on the issues in western Rakhine State in Myanmar by drawing comparison with views from the international community. Then, the Senior General gave cordial views on situations facing Myanmar when the peace process is practically being carried out and the tasks being implemented by comparing with experiences from the international community.
