Prize-presenting and closing ceremony of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) sports competitions for 2017 held

Prize-presenting and closing ceremony of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) sports competitions for 2017 was held at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Stadium here this evening attended by Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in- Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union ministers and their wives, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief and their wives, command commanders, division commanders, Tatmadaw member MPs, senior officer trainees of the National Defence College, officers, other ranks and families of departments and units of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Army, Navy, Air), officers, other ranks and families of stations under the Nay Pyi Taw Command, President of Myanmar Football Federation U Zaw Zaw, invited guests and sports fans.

First, Myawady music band under the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare entertained with songs.

Northern Command team and Yangon Command team played in the final match of A Class of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) football tournament. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and all those present enjoyed the match.

Northern Command team beat Yangon Command by 1:0.

After that, members of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) military band took position at the Zeyathiri Tatmadaw stadium and made demonstrations by singing military songs.

Afterwards, the flag bearer led by the parade commander, 17 sports teams and six prize-winning football teams took position at the same venue.

At the prize-presenting ceremony, Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Hsan Oo presented the fair play awards to the No.55 Light Infantry Division team in the B class football tournament and the Northern Command team in the A Class football tournament, and the third awards to No.33 LID team in B class and the Central Command team in A class; Commander-in- Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San presented the second prizes to No. 22 LID in B class and the Yangon Command team in A class; Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Mya Tun Oo, the best player awards B class in respective places and the first prize award to the No. 55 LID B class; and Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Ye Aung, the best player awards A class, and the first prize to the Central Command team A class. 

Afterwards, Union Minister for Defence Lt-Gen Sein Win presented the trophy of the Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services, duplicate trophy and cash award to the team representing No. 55 Light Infantry Division which won the first prize in the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) B Class Football Tournament.

Next, Vice-Senior General Soe Win gave the trophy of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, duplicate trophy and cash award to the team representing Northern Command which secured the first prize in the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) A Class Football Tournament.

Then, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented championship shield and cash award to the team representing the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) which bagged 116 gold, 57 silver and 49 bronze medals, totaling 222 as the largest medal winning team in the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Sports Competitions through the team administrator officer.

After the prize-presenting ceremony, the flag bearer, 17 sports teams, and the military bands representing the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) led by the parade commander left the Zeyathiri Tatmadaw stadium in the column marching, waving to the spectators. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and the spectators also waved to them.

Later, the prize-presenting for the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Sports Competitions for 2017 and the closing ceremony were held with launching of fireworks to mark the successful completion of ceremony.
