Investigation finds 10 Jan story of RB News Website fake

‘‘Tatmadawmen from a local battalion arrested and inhumanely beat CoriMula, son of Shaha Tula, in Kyar Gaung Taung Village, Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State, over the whole night of 8 January forcing him to tell the whereabouts of the hidden weapons. He then had to pay Ks-1 million after he was asked to do so if he did not want to be tortured,’’ the RB News Website reported on 10 January.

In connection with the news report, a combined team comprising departmental officials, Tatmadaw officials and border guard police force questioned CoriMula in the presence of officials, elders and villagers from Kyar Gaung Taung Village at 1 pm today. But, he admitted that he was not inhumanely beaten by any Tatmadaw columns and did not have to pay Ks-1 million. Then, the village officials and locals made him sign a letter of proof saying that there was no such a case. Moreover, CoriMula (whose photo shown above) was not found with any sign of being tortured. 

Moreover, Myawady TV and Myawady Daily had released the information that officials conducted investigation due to fabricated reports described by RB News Website on 7 and 8 January and these reports were fabricated news.

The Tatmadaw is carrying out restoring peace and stability in cooperation with responsible organizations under the law for perpetuation of sovereignty, ensuring rule of law, and regional peace and stability in Maungtaw region of Rakhine State and releasing information on progress of tasks on time.
