Construction of Karuna Kaba Home for the Aged in Nay Pyi Taw completes by 45%

Karuna Kaba Home for the Aged is being built at the junction of Shwekyapin Street and Yadanamyintzu Street in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, with the aim of accommodating and taking care of the family members of the retired Tatmadawmen, the bereaved families of Tatmadawmen who risked their lives and those who served the best interest of the country and the Tatmadaw.

This morning, Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing together with Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in- Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, senior officers from the office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) and the Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander visited the construction site. The Senior General and party were briefed there by Deputy Director Col Aung Myaing from the Directorate of Military Engineers on construction of the main building and other administrative buildings. Next, Lt-Gen Tun Kyi (Retd), chairman of the Central Committee for the Karuna Kaba Home for the Aged, gave a supplementary report on arrangements for accommodation and meals.

The Senior General gave instructions on effective supervision of the completion of the project and providing ambulances, medical doctors and staff and medicine in order to take care of the health of elderly people.

The Senior General then inspected the construction site and urged the officials concerned to meet the requirements of the elderly and grow shade trees in the home compound. The project began on 27 October 2015 and has completed by 45 per cent till now. (100)
