About 20 ARSA extremist Bengali terrorists attacked the police outpost with the use of small arms,sticks, swords and spears in Meetaik Village of Maungtaw Township,Rakhine State, at about 10 pm on 3 September. Due to counter-attacks of the security forces, those extremist Bengali terrorists withdrew to the northwest of the village at 10.05 pm.
In the incident, one body of Bengali terrorist was arrested together with one percussion lock firearm, five lead balls, one box of gunpowder, one sword and one torch light.
Likewise, about 30 ARSA extremist Bengali terrorists used homemade guns, sticks, swords and spears in attacking the security troops discharging duty to conduct area clearance operation in Thinbawkway Village of Maungtaw Township at 9 am. As the security personnel carried out counter-attacks, the terrorists retreated from the scene at about 11 am. While retreating from the scene, the terrorists set fire to the village. Therefore, the security troops totally put out the fire at 12.30 pm. In the incident,about 500 houses of the village were reduced to ashes. One body of ARSA extremist Bengali terrorist was arrested together with one home-made gun.
At 2 pm today, the security troops on duty to comb the region unearthed one home-made mine planted by ARSA extremist Bengali terrorists,25 feet long wire, one 12 volt battery and one already-exploded homemade mine along the shoulder of central village road near Thinganet Village of Maungtaw Township.
The mine was deactivated.Area clearance operation is being conducted around the scenes and environs.
